Manhasset Isle
:

Water Project Schedule:

Steps Taking Place to Replace Water Mains in Manhasset Isle

Initial phase: The roads are dug up and new water main piping is installed
Once initial digging and installation is completed, the digging locations are reopened. At that time, a new water main service line is installed to each home at no cost to the homeowner.
Note : Any damage to the homeowner's lawn, curb blocks and/or property will be restored at no cost to the homeowner at the expense of the Water District. Once the project is coming to completion, such incidences should be reported to: The Port Washington Water District – 516-767-0171.

Once secondary pipes are completed, the water is sterilized, pressure tested and water samples are sent to the lab for testing and final approval by the Department of Health, BEFORE the new lines will be used. Up until that point, old water lines will be used, so the water is SAFE to drink.

Estimated completion date is: Spring 2013

PROBLEM WITH FERAL CATS OR BARKING DOGS?
CATS:

We are proud to be a part of North Hempstead's efforts to slowly rid the community of ferel cats. If you see stray cats in your area or on your property, call the ferel cat hotline: 516-869-6311.The cats will be captured by the Town of North Hempstead, will be neutered, fed and released. Although this will not immediately remedy the problem, eventually, the stray cat population will decrease, making the community a cleaner, safer place to live.
DOGS:
If there is a stray dog problem during daytime hours, call the Police Department: 516- 573-6300, during evening hours call: 516-876-4480.
In addition, no one likes to hear a barking dog all day long.PLEASE do not leave animals out all day, be considerate of your neighbor's right to a peaceful environment. If barking becomes a problem, please contact the police department. Be a responsible pet owner, and be sure to pick up dog and cat waste and dispose of it properly. Your neighbors thank you and so do we!
