
LOCAL MAYOR MEEHAN, COMMISSIONER DAN DI LUCIA, AND NASSAU COUNTY O.E.M. HOST DISASTER PREPARATION BRIEFING
Manorhaven, N.Y. - Mayor Michael T. Meehan, Commissioner of Health and Safety Dan Di Lucia, and Nassau County's Office of Emergency Management gave a public briefing on emergency preparation on October 12, 2011. Mayor Meehan and Commissioner Di Lucia briefed Village residents and concerned members of the greater Port Washington community about how residents can prepare their families for natural and manmade disasters and emergencies. Information was also provided on how to sign up for the North Shore Alert system, in order to get updated information on any emergency situation as it develops.

IN SUCCESSFUL PRESERVE CLEANUP
Manorhaven, N.Y. --- On Saturday, April 30, 2011, volunteers from the Village joined Mayor Meehan and the P.W. Green organization to clean up trash and litter in Manorhaven Village Preserve. All the volunteers assembled at 9:00 a.m. at the Gazebo, grabbed a pair of gloves and a heavy-duty contractors bag, and started picking up trash. Folks of all ages came and enjoyed a bit of fresh air while doing good for the community.
